Description |
Our Villa is situated on a gated community in a quiet development backing onto a conservation area. Just 5 minutes from Highway 192, 15 minutes from both Disney & SeaWorld and 20 minutes from Universal, it is perfectly situated for both attractions and shops/restaurants alike.
It has its own private South facing screened swimming pool and deck area, where you can enjoy the Sun all day and because it borders a conservation area, it's not overlooked. The community has a childrens' play area as well as lakes and and scenic paths for those keen on keeping fit! These can be used only by owners and their guests. Access to Cumbrian Lakes (via the electric gates at the entrance) is only possible by entering a pre-advised code, making this development especially attractive for the security conscious.
The Villa is fully air conditioned for all year round comfort and all rooms also have ceiling fans. As it is our own holiday home, its furnished with the help of a local interior designer, to a very high standard. Both the lounge suite and dining table & chairs were recently renewed in line with our policy of continually improving facilities for our guests.
We have 4 bedrooms - 2 Master Suites with Queen beds and 2 twins - and since there is a sofa-bed in the lounge, up to 10 guests can be accommodated. Both Master Suites have walk-in wardrobes, phone, cable TV, DVD/VCR and ensuite bathrooms, which each boast 2 washbasins as well as bath, shower and WC. The 2 twin bedrooms have TVs and share the 3rd bathroom which provides a bath with shower and WC. There is a cot and high-chair if required. Linen and towels are provided, as is maid service between lets. There is a safe available for storing valuables and the Villa also has a monitored alarm system.
Our large open-plan lounge/diner has a cathedral style ceiling and our 6 seater dining table has extra chairs around the villa so that more can be seated if necessary. Entertainment includes: Cable TV, VCR/DVD player, PC/Wi-Fi with high-speed Internet connection, Playstation 2, mini Hi-Fi with CD player and of course the Games Room. There is also a small DVD library. A phone is provided, long-distance calls can be made by registering with a credit card. The kitchen has every modern convenience including cooker, fridge with ice-maker, dishwasher, waste disposal, microwave, toaster, coffee maker, electric can opener etc. etc. A washing machine and dryer are located in a specially designed area just off the kitchen, and an iron and ironing board are provided. There is an integral double garage which is home to our Games Room.
Our attractive screened pool is approx. 27 x 12 with a spray feature and can be lit at night (to make the most of those warm evenings). A shower is situated on the large pool deck, where there is also plenty of room for the loungers. All patio furniture is included, with a table and chairs in the Lanai (covered area) for outside eating. The pool is serviced weekly to insure its kept in pristine condition. Pool heating is an optional extra - this isn't generally needed for most of the year, but is available at £80/$130 per week if required. Our Management Company are available during normal business hours to help with any problems you might encounter. They also provide a 24hr helpline number, should any emergencies arise out of hours.
All our family are non-smokers and we want to keep the villa as a no smoking environment. Please therefore, would you respect our preference and not book our villa if you or any of your party want to smoke indoors. Thank you.

11/11/08 We have just returned from a fantastic 2 weeks(15th - 29th Oct,08) staying in this lovely villa. We had viewed the website, seen the brochure but were still taken aback when we arrived at how great the villa really is. So much space, very comfortable, a real home from home, lovely pool. The villa is situated only a short drive away from Disney etc absolutly ideal. Jon was very helpful and so was the management company. Will be back as soon as we can and will recommend to friends too.

09/28/08 We rented this house for 3 weeks this summer. We were 8 people the first week, and then 5 the last two weeks. We loved the house and the surroundings. Everything was just perfect. We left only wishing we could have stayed longer. First time I dindn't miss home :)
But its not only the house that I would like to recommend, but the owners as well. They are very helpful and tidy.

01/29/08 The house did exactly what it said on the tin. We and the kids stayed for 4 weeks without a single problem or anything to complain about. The managing agents even replaced the faulty TV remote within 30 minutes!! We will most definitely not even bother looking for anywhere else to stay on our next visit to Orlando. The house is situated absolutely perfectly for the parks and nightlife.

Last but not least Jon was of great help to us before we left and also the next door neighbor was both helpfull and friendly. YES I WOULD LOVE TO STAY THERE AGAIN.

09/08/07 We spent 3 weeks in Jon's villa and had a fantastic holiday, not least due to its excellent condition and location.
We are serious Disney fan's and were able to leave the villa at 8.15am each day and be at any of the parks in time for opening at 9am.
We liked being in a quiet area, but close enough to get to everything easily. Try the Macaroni Grill on the 192 for a great value meal.

09/02/07 We have just returned from our first visit to Florida. Jons villa is beautiful, very well equipped and spacious. The villa felt like 'home' from the moment we arrived. The children loved the pool and the games room. In fact my son who is 9 sometimes just wanted to go 'home' so he could swim in the pool!
The villa is very well situated for Disney and nearby are a host of lovely restaurants.
Jon was very helpful both before the holiday and whilst we were there. Thank you for letting us stay.

01/14/07 What can I say, on our 4th trip in 3 years to the Orlando area and Villa rentals, and both my wife, family and I can only say we hit a pot of gold with this Villa. We stayed between 22/12/06 till 10/1/07. The owner has equipped it with everything you need for a great stay, all working and decorated beautifully. 06/22/04 My family and I stayed in Jon's villa at Cumbrian Lakes for a week in mid-May.
We were half-way through an eleven-week trip to the USA that involved lots of driving, so it was great to have this wonderful house to relax in after all those weeks on the road sharing cheap motel rooms! Everything was top-notch -very comnfortable, clean and well appointed. It was also great value for money, in view of the amenities included.
As others have said, it was quite a task sometimes getting the kids (and ourselves) out of the pool and the house, even to visit the many theme parks in the Orlando area. The villa is well-located - only a few minutes drive to all manner of shopping and also convenient to the theme parks and other attractions.
We found Jon to be very helpful and responsive to our needs. He even organized for a BBQ (gas grill) to be supplied for our stay, as we Aussies enjoy BBQs and were really looking forward to some home-cooked food after our long road trip.
Anyway, we'd throughly recommend this villa to anyone. While we only had four people (my wife and I and the two kids aged 10 and 11), the villa could easily accommodate many more in total comfort - two families or an extended family, for example.
We're missing the USA already, and our stay in Jon's villa will always be one of our fond memories from the trip.

We did contact the management company concerning the lock, they came out straight away and resolved the problem by fitting a new lock. The pool was also clean and ready to use. 04/19/03 Great stay in the Cumbrian Lakes home. Home fit our needs to a "tee". It was nicely furnished and extra neat.
